PARKING

A few free parking spaces adjacent to church at the gate nearest The Square, and on Priest Lane; and also some on The Square itself, but often all spaces are occupied.

CAR PARKS
There is plenty of space in the nearby Cartmel Park on the west side of Cartmel.
Take the lane immediately to the left of the Village Shop at the west end of The Square. This leads past the Village Hall to Cartmel Park and Racecourse, where you can park your car in a Pay and Display car park (150 spaces - £2 for up to 2 hours).
From here you can walk back through The Square to the Priory - it's approximately 300 metres.

ACCESSIBILITY

Complicated route - starting from inside Priory in transept, door to few steps then narrow staircase inside wall, followed by spiral staircase, then along roof to corner of tower, and final few steps through low doorway. See Old Cumbria Gazetteer (Bells) for some photos of route.
Plenty of space in the ringing room.

FACILITIES

TOILETS
No toilets inside the Priory.
Public toilets 300m west of Priory at car park beside racecourse (see earlier section - parking). If not open, may need to use toilets in a café or pub.

SHELTER
Plenty of space in Priory and ringing room to shelter from weather.

SHOPS
Close to the Priory on The Square and Cavendish Street. Shops (including renown sticky toffee pudding and other goodies), cafes/restaurants (e.g. Simon Rogan's 2 michelin star L'enclume), and hostelries (e.g. Unsworths Yard with brewery).
